Watching and listening to Barbra Streisand’s ‘Timeless’ concert from 31st December 1999, and ‘David Foster & Friends’. At home, playing out from a Mac Mini with VLC, through the REDGUM RGDAC8, to a REDGUM Black RGi120ENR driving a pair of Axis VBS and a pair of active Axis EBS. Very moving.
We had the prototype of the RGDAC8 for a long time before the design was finally frozen and put into production. Ian brought a production unit for us in early-August and this is the first time we’ve had a chance to watch & listen to well-produced and superbly mastered concerts. The end-to-end linear phase REDGUM/Axis system is proof positive that 2-channel stereo done right is truly magical.
If you attend live concerts and want that ‘as if there’ feeling then look no further. Surround sound not essential. It doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.
