On Sunday 13th January we provided on-stage sound reinforcement at the re:SOUND Collective‘s concert, An Italian Extravaganza, at the Victoria Concert Hall in Singapore. The concert was led and conducted by Maestro Enrico Onofri and featured works by Italian masters Dario Castello, Arcangelo Corelli, Antonio Vivaldi, Luigi Boccherini, Gioachino Rossini and Ottorino Respighi.
Sound reinforcement was required for the recitation of the three sonnets that Vivaldi wrote to accompany the three movements of Winter from the Four Seasons suite. Recitation of the sonnets (translated into English) was included in this performance to show how Vivaldi “programmed” the music in each of the three movements. The soloist for Winter was 12 year-old Singaporean Chloe Chua, co-winner of the Junior Prize at the 2018 Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists.
Equipment used:
- RØDE NT2-A microphone
- Soundcraft Ui12 mixer
- REDGUM Black i120ENR integrated amplifier
- Axis VoiceBox FLS loudspeakers
- REDGUM Expressive Line speaker cables.
The concert was sold out, and the REDGUM/Axis combination had no problems reaching all parts of the concert hall. The concert was being recorded by msm-productions, to which we provided a pre-fader feed from the mixer.
Coincidentally, we also provided tuning services for the harpsichord used in the rehearsal sessions.
